Ingredients & Supplies:
• Cannabis trim or bud (get it from Julian, or snag it from Lahey’s stash)
• Ice cubes (Ricky’s freezer raid)
• Water (straight from the tap)
• Large bucket (whatever’s lying around)
• Wooden spoon or spatula (borrowed from Julian’s BBQ)
• Mesh strainer (Bubbles’ screen door works fine)
• Coffee filters or cheesecloth (dollar store is the place)
• Jar lids or coin molds (perfect for shaping hash coins)
• T-shirt press or stack of books (Ricky’s stolen encyclopedias)
• High-proof alcohol (Everclear or moonshine)
• Cannabis oil (optional for edibles)
• Edible ink printer and rice paper (for printing faces—see below for where to buy)
• Food-safe stamps or stickers (for non-printer method)
Part 1: Making the Hash Coins
1. Gather Your Cannabis
– Get enough trim or buds from a trusted source (Julian, or swipe it from Lahey).
2. Ice Water Hash Extraction
– Fill a bucket with ice water, throw in your cannabis, and stir like you’re trying to win Bubbles’ cat-sitting contest for about 15-20 minutes. This knocks the trichomes off the plant material.
3. Strain Out the Plant Matter
– Use a strainer (Bubbles’ old screen door will work) to separate the water and cannabis. Strain it again through a coffee filter or cheesecloth to get all those lovely trichomes.
4. Let It Settle
– Leave the liquid for 30 minutes to an hour so the trichomes settle to the bottom. They’ll be your future hash.
5. Drain and Collect
– Carefully pour off the water and collect the trichomes. Use a coffee filter or cheesecloth to catch every last bit.
6. Press the Hash
– Scoop the hash into jar lids or molds. Press with a T-shirt press or stack up Ricky’s stolen books to get your hash coin shape.
7. Dry the Hash Coins
– Leave them in Ricky’s car to dry naturally for a few days.
Part 2: Infusing the Hash Coins
Decarboxylating the Hash Coins
1. Activate the THC
– Preheat your oven to 220°F (104°C). Bake the hash coins on a sheet for 30-45 minutes to activate the THC.
Alcohol Infusion
1. Soak in Alcohol
– Break the decarbed hash into pieces. Submerge them in high-proof alcohol in a jar, shaking every few hours. Let it sit for 24 hours.
2. Strain the Alcohol
– Strain the alcohol through cheesecloth or a filter to remove plant material. Now you have hash-infused alcohol for drinks or further infusion.
Oil Infusion (Optional for Edibles)
1. Simmer in Oil
– Warm coconut or olive oil and simmer your decarbed hash for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
2. Strain the Oil
– Strain to remove plant matter. Use the infused oil for cooking or baking edibles.
Part 3: Printing Faces on Hash Coins
Method 1: Edible Ink Printer
Where to Buy an Edible Ink Printer:
You can find affordable edible ink printers online. Here are a few places to buy one cheaply:
• Amazon: You can find basic edible ink printers starting around $150. Look for models like the Canon Pixma TS5320 or Epson Artisan 1430, which have compatible edible ink cartridges. Check for bundle deals that come with ink and rice paper.
• Etsy: Sometimes sellers offer affordable pre-owned or refurbished edible ink printers with all the supplies you need.
• eBay: Look for budget-friendly edible ink printers. You might find good deals on used models starting as low as $100.
Search these sites for “edible ink printer,” and make sure the printer comes with food-safe ink cartridges and rice paper.
Steps to Print the Faces:
1. Download Photos
– Get iconic images of Ricky, Bubbles, and Julian. Resize them to match the size of your hash coins using any photo-editing software.
2. Print on Edible Rice Paper
– Use your edible ink printer and rice paper to print the faces. Make sure the images fit your hash coins. Most printers have software to help with resizing.
3. Apply to Hash Coins
– Lightly moisten the top of each hash coin with a small amount of water and gently press the rice paper faces onto the hash coins. Let them dry for a few hours.
Method 2: Food-Safe Stamps or Stickers
If you don’t want to mess with a printer, you can use food-safe stamps or stickers to apply the faces directly onto the hash coins.
1. Get Food-Safe Stamps or Stickers
– Purchase food-safe stamps featuring images of Ricky, Bubbles, and Julian online or at specialty baking stores. You can also make your own by printing the images on food-safe sticker paper available online.
2. Stamp or Stick the Faces
– If using stamps, lightly moisten the stamp with edible ink or food coloring and press it onto the hash coin surface to transfer the design. If using stickers, simply peel and stick the image onto the coin. Ensure the surface is clean and slightly damp to help the sticker adhere better.
3. Let It Settle
– Allow the stamped or stickered coins to dry for a few hours before handling to ensure the designs stay in place.
Part 4: Enjoying the Hash Coins
• Smoke or Vape: Break them up for a joint or bong, or toss them in a vaporizer.
• Edibles: Use the infused oil for baking or cooking—just like Ricky’s ‘special’ brownies.
• Cannabis Cocktails: Use the hash-infused alcohol to create trailer-park-worthy cocktails for your next big event.
